Biography:
Dr. GAO Boyan earned his Ph.D. in 2017 from the Department of Nutrition and Food Science at the University of Maryland, College Park, USA. His research focuses on food chemistry and analytical science, specializing in food safety, quality control, and nutritional analysis. His work involves the systematic investigation of formation mechanisms and control strategies for processing-induced toxic substances, as well as their absorption, metabolism, and toxicological effects in vivo. He also develops rapid food authentication methods using multi-analytical approaches and conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis of nutrients in raw and processed foods.
Dr. Gao has authored over 100 manuscripts and has an H-index of 32 (Google Scholar). In addition to his research, Dr. Gao serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry since Nov 2025, and was a member of the USP Expert Committee on Dietary Protein (2019–2025).
